STATEMENT: London Irish respond to reported merger with Wasps - RuckNeil Fissler from The Rugby Paper reported yesterday that there could be a shock merger between two Gallagher Premiership clubs. He wrote in this weekend’s edition: “Wasps could be set to leave Coventry and make a return to their traditional home in London as part of a potential merger with London Irish.
The South African's last taste of Premiership action came nearly 16 weeks ago against Leicester Tigers. He becomes the third different player to wear the number 14 shirt in as many Premiership games for Wasps as Paolo Odogwu remains on the bench.
